Twenty years ago back in my calendar
I can still imagine, I can still remember
We quit our ruined country and ran away
Far from war to live our life day by day

We stepped into the ship ready for sailing
We arrived after 2 days, it was so exciting
When i first pulled my feet out of the boat
I wanted to take off my clothes and float

Chilling became our regular daily habit
To hide our sorrow and forget about it
I still smell the scent of the white sand
The chaotic roads of this small land
The crowded restaurants we visited
The super delicious food we tasted

Everything was like a dream to me
That i can’t forget and I still can see

To return, we have never expected
To stay, was all what we wanted
In the land that protected us from war
Cyprus, I won’t forget you evermore!
